Key Application Scenarios

Hydrophilic gel-matrix extended-release tablets

Rapidly hydrates in contact with water to form a gel barrier that controls the drug-release rate — the most common oral extended-release technology.

Push–pull osmotic pump (PPOP) push layer

Ref. dosage Push-layer content 50 – 70%

Acts as a swelling agent in the push layer; it absorbs water and expands to drive the drug layer, achieving zero-order release independent of pH and food intake.

Drug-layer suspending agent

Ref. dosage Drug-layer content 70 – 95%

Within the drug layer of a push–pull osmotic pump it keeps the drug uniformly dispersed, preventing sedimentation and phase separation.
